The Anatomy of the Bezel

THE MAKING OF A MOVEMENT

Behind our signature bezel lies a feat of micro-engineering and meticulous handcraft — a process that merges centuries-old jewelry techniques with modern mechanical innovation.
Unlike a traditional bezel, which is fixed and static, our kinetic bezel must move with absolute precision. Each component — from the dual suspension rings to the rotational axis — is engineered to a tolerance of mere fractions of a millimeter. One imperfection, and the entire system would lose its seamless glide.
The challenge begins with the build itself. Every bezel is composed of multiple interlocking elements, each hand-finished and assembled under magnification. The tolerances are so exact that any variation in polish or gold weight can affect the movement. Our artisans fine the perfect balance: creating a mechanism robust enough to endure daily wear while maintaining the effortless fluidity of its orbit.
This is not a setting that can be mass-produced. It demands hundreds of hours of development, precision casting, and hand assembly. Many components are custom-cut, requiring specialized tools and expertise typically reserved for high watchmaking.
Once assembled, each piece undergoes rigorous testing to ensure flawless rotation, durability, and comfort against the skin. The result is a setting unlike any other — alive with movement, engineered to perfection, and crafted entirely in 18K gold.
This is the heart of the Chelsea Gabrielle innovation: where mechanics meet elegance, and timeless heirlooms are set in motion.
